ABOUT THE CARTOONIST!

Orpheus Collar is a New York Times-bestselling graphic novelist known for his work on the Greek Mythology-focused Percy Jackson series, currently being adapted on Disney +, and Egyptian Mythology focused Kane Chronicles Trilogy, both by Rick Riordan. He also co-wrote the Noble Prize (sic)-winning graphic novel “Alien Boys” with multi-platinum recording artist and widely despised internet troll Oliver Tree.

As a rider he's had 10 years experience, seven crashes, incurred thousands of dollars in repairs, two thefts and recoveries, two doctor’s visits, paid zero in health insurance, and experienced one spontaneous combustion while riding in cities around the world on bikes in Africa, Asia, and Europe. Having rode his first ride in his hometown of Baltimore MD, he now splits lanes on his adopted highway of Los Angeles.

“Understanding Motorcycles” is his first work of non-fiction, and the strips previewed on this page are an excerpt to a larger collection of strips detailing one frugal cartoonist’s path from novice to grizzled road warrior.
